59% of Public Action is on the Chiefs vs. Bills, Hot Numbers Trends to Consider

Dave Mason of BetOnline is back to give us a preview of the action coming in ahead of NFL week 6 at BetOnline. Big matchups across the board and as always there are some interesting trends developing as we head into the weekend.

The most wagered on NFL game by far is the Bills-Chiefs where the Chiefs are a rare home underdog.  That's only happened three times since 2017 and the Chiefs lost two of those three games outright.  They failed to cover in two of three games as well.

Going back to 2014, the Chiefs are 3-2 Straight Up and Against The Spread in the five times they were a home underdog.

This one is getting bet big.  59% of the cash was on the Chiefs +2.5.

Elsewhere, 68% of the cash was on Cincy at New Orleans.  64% of the action was on New England getting 2.5 at Cleveland.

Baltimore was seeing 71% of the early action at the Jets.  The public is loving Atlanta at an 81% clip +5 at San Francisco.

This was all mostly early action.  Across the board Sunday morning, Tampa was getting hit with around 85% of the spread action versus Pittsburgh, Cincinnati was still seeing around 65% of the action.  The Jaguars were also getting better than 60% of the public love.

The Patriots were seeing 60% to 64% of the spread action still.

The Jets at +10 in Green Bay were getting better than 60% of the spread action.

The -2.5 Hot Trend

Favorites in the NFL that have hit -2.5 and remained at or below the number 3 have covered in 11 of 12 games so far this season.

Cincinnati is the -2.5 to -3 point favorite in New Orleans, Cleveland moving between -2.5 and -3, and Arizona mostly between -2 and -3.

The Bills aso meet the criteria for this particular hot trend, having stayed at -3 or below throughout the course of the week.

The Colts can qualify as part of this trend having hit the -2.5 during the course of this past week, though the number has stayed mostly around -1.5.

Minnesota has gone above the 3.  Favorites moving below and above the 3 have performed relatively well this season, though the sampling was low.

While this trend will need to cool down at some point, we'll continue to ride with with Cincinnati, Cleveland, Arizona and Buffalo as well as Indianapolis.
