Darren Clarke and Thomas Bjorn continued to play strong at the 2011 Open Championship with early odds of winning at 150 to 1 and 200 to 1, respectively.  The Northern Ireland player, Clarke, was also a long shot to lead the Irish contenders.

Mickelson had moved into the number two spot on the leadership board by Sunday afternoon and had much shorter odds of winning the Open Championship coming into Thursday’s play but one could have gotten him at longer odds Saturday evening and Sunday morning, 20 to 1.

Earlier in the year, Mickelson would regularly be instilled as the favorite by online bookmakers.

The three-time Major winner had risen up the leaderboard during the day on Sunday.  Clarke's eagle on the seventh edged him ahead of Mickelson.

Meanwhile, early favorite to win the 2011 Open Championship, Rory McIlroy concluded with a three-over-par 73 to leave himself seven over as he continues to struggle with consistency issues.
