888Sport.com has released their Open Championship odds for 2011 top English player.

Lee Westwood and Luke Donald were both listed as the 7/4 favorites to finish first among England’s golfers.   Justin Rose, Paul Casey and Ian Poulter each offered tremendous value at 11/1 odds.

None of these British players have to win the tournament, they simply have to finish above all the others from England.

Ireland’s two-time Open Championship winner, Padraig Harrington, had nothing but great things to say about Westwood.

“Lee is a prolific winner and could be a prolific winner of majors. Of all the players out here who has a good understanding of their game, he’s right in there. And he would be a perfect example, I believe, who is in the one per cent of fearless golfers.”

But Harrington doesn’t believe The British Open is Westwood’s cup of tea.

“I think he has a chance of winning at Sandwich but (he] wouldn’t be my favourite. I don’t think it’s his golf course. I would pick a venue like Congressional, a big, tough challenge, as a golf course for Lee to win on. Not a tricky golf course.”

Luke Donald will come into this event having just won the Scottish Open on Sunday.

Donald had 10/1 odds of winning the Open Championship 2011 outright while Westwood was listed with 11/1 odds.
