MGM Settles Vegas Ketamine-Spiking Lawsuit Filed By Super Agent: Says He Lost $2 Million Gambling
Tuesday April 21, 2026 (11:17 pm EDT)
It's a case that has dragged on for years but a Hollywood sports agent has finally settled with MGM after claims his drink had been spiked in the casino, resulting in $2 million in gambling losses.
Dwight Manley, 60, was once former NBA player Dennis Rodman's agent. He claimed to be involuntarily drugged with ketamine while playing blackjack in the high-limit area of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in December 2021.
Both sides presented their own medical experts.
The suit also described that Manley sustained injuries as his credit line was increased by millions of dollars while under the influence. (United States District Court, District of Nevada, Case No. 2:22-cv-01906-MMD-DJA. Third Amended Complaint.) Manley was even injured after cutting his hand but was allowed to continue playing.
The settlement was decided at a confidential hearing on Monday in the US District Court in Nevada. Neither party is disclosing the sum involved, according to The Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Virginia Voters Back Redistricting
Tuesday April 21, 2026 (9:45 pm EDT)
BetOnline released odds on Tuesday's Virginia special election to vote on redistricting that would heavily favor Democrats. The YES won.
The constitutional amendment narrowly backed by voters bypasses a bipartisan redistricting commission to allow the use of new districts drawn by Virginia’s Democratic-led General Assembly. But the public vote may not be the final word. The state Supreme Court is considering whether the plan is illegal in a case that could make the referendum results meaningless.
The Virginia redistricting referendum marked a setback for President Donald Trump, who kicked off a national redistricting battle last year by urging Republican officials in Texas to redraw districts. The goal was to help Republicans win more seats in the November elections and hold on to a narrow House majority in the face of political headwinds that typically favor the party out of power during midterm elections.
The redistricting amendment was listed as a huge -1000 favorite to pass at BetOnline.

Tuesday April 21, 2026 (3:02 pm EDT)
New York's attorney general sued Coinbase Financial Markets (COIN.O),and Gemini Titan (GEMI.O) on Tuesday, claiming their prediction markets violate state laws against illegal gambling.
In complaints filed in a state court in Manhattan, Attorney General Letitia James said Coinbase and Gemini failed to obtain New York State Gaming Commission licenses to operate their markets, where people trade based on the predicted outcomes of events such as sports and elections.
James said Coinbase's and Gemini's so-called event contracts are "quintessentially gambling" because event outcomes are outside bettors' control or amount to games of chance.
