The fallout continues as yet another NFL player has been suspended for violating the league's gambling policy.

This time it's Eyioma Uwazurike of the Denver Broncos.

He is alleged to have placed bets on NFL games last season. Uwazurike is eligible for reinstatement no earlier than July 24, 2024.

The NFL issued a statement late Monday following news of Uwazurike's suspension.

"We were informed by the NFL today that Eyioma Uwazurike has been suspended by the league indefinitely for violating its gambling policy. Our organization fully cooperated with this investigation and takes matters pertaining to the integrity of the game very seriously.”

A handful of other players have been suspended in recent weeks for violating the league's gambling policy.

Detroit Lions receiver Jameson Williams, among the first to be suspended for gambling infractions, said he was unaware of the NFL gambling policy that he violated.

“It hit me out the blue,” Williams told reporters Thursday. “And, it hit a couple other players around the league and on my team out the blue.”

Williams did not place bets on NFL games.  He was suspended for the first six games of the upcoming season for betting from a team facility.

Lions wide receiver Quintez Cephus, Lions safety C.J. Moore and Washington Commanders Shaka Toney were suspended indefinitely for wagering on NFL games.

More recently, Isaiah Rodgers was also found to be in violation of league gambling policy for placing bets on NFL games.  He is ineligible to play for at least the 2023-24 season.

Uwazurike was a 4th round draft last year and played in eight games last season with 165 snaps on defense.  He was yet to comment on the matter as of Tuesday morning.
