The Tennessee Titans were coming in as a +3 road dog at Pittsburgh.  Around 60 percent of those betting the spread were backing Tennessee.  Without any line movement, that percentage was 70%.  The dollar balance was approximately $270K Tennessee to $170K Pittsburgh.

Why Not Try to Get More Action on the Steelers?

No matter the book, they were all hanging in at Tennessee +3 as opposed to trying to get a little more action on Pittsburgh by dropping a half point to +2.5.

We would note that the AcePerHead Pay Per Head internal data had a much more balanced game.

The -2 to -3

Sagarin brings us a number of 3.90 favoring Pittsburgh.  This one can be classified as an accurate number with a slight underlay of between 1 and 1.5.  In this range, accurate numbers tend to go strong for the favorite.
