The betting public is giving a 76% chance that all charges are dropped against golfer Scottie Scheffler, the World No. 1 golfer, by May 31, 2024.  Those odds equate to -355, or around 1/4.

Polymarket began offering this betting market, as well as wagering on whether the Louisville Police would apologize to Scheffler, almost immediately following Friday morning's arrest.

Shocking images show Scheffler handcuffed and taken to jail for not following police orders after a pedestrian fatality investigation.  Police say an unidentified individual had been struck by a bus on the only road that leads to Valhalla Golf Club, in Louisville, Ky., just after 6 a.m. Friday.  Traffic was backed up for approximately a mile.

He was ultimately charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic but later released just minutes before he was slated to begin play on Friday.

Scheffler was able to return to play Friday morning and remained in contention the rest of that day.

Scheffler's arraignment has now been delayed until June 3.

Polymarket will settle this bet as follows:

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the second-degree assault charge against Scottie Scheffler, stemming from his arrest on May 17, 2024, is officially dropped or reduced to a non-felony charge by May 31, 2024, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".

The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the relevant court or an official statement from Scheffler's legal representatives. However, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Polymarket is not available to those in the U.S. for wagering.
