The 3-2 New York Jets opened as a -6 away favorite against the 1-4 Oakland Raiders. The Jets were a steady -3 road favorite the rest of the week everywhere.

More than 90 percent of the betting action was going New York's way. If we were keen on betting Oakland, we probably would, but this team is just too haphazard for our tastes.

This is these two teams 36th regular-season meeting. Raiders lead series, 19-14-2. The Jets have won the last three meetings, including a 23-3 victory in the 2006 regular-season finale, which clinched a playoff spot for the Jets. The teams played seven times, all in Oakland, from 1999 through 2003, including two playoff games. Oakland won five of those seven games, including both post-season matchups. The Jets beat Oakland, 24-22 in the 2001 regular-season finale on John Hall's 53-yard field goal, clinching a playoff berth.

The home team has won 8 of the last 10 in this series while it should be noted that the Jets two away wins were won by 3 and 2 points, respectively.

Everything here points to an Oakland win. But does anyone really want to wager on the hapless Raiders? Not us. We'll leave that up to you guys and gals.

The Jets are 2-6 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

The Raiders are 8-24 ATS in their last 32 home games.
