The Philadelphia Eagles vs. Minnesota Vikings betting odds opened at Philadelphia -3 and 100 percent of online bookmakers were reporting this line throughout the week.

Two home underdogs managed to pull off victories on Saturday (though the Colts/Chargers game was eventually a PICK at most books by game time).

The home team has won 8 of the last 9 in this series although the last game was won on the road.  7 of those last 9 games were played in Philadelphia though.  The Eagles are 4-0 this decade and they have beaten the Vikings by more than 7 points each time.  The Eagles, however, 2-11-1 ATS in their last 14 games as a favorite of 0.5-3.0.

The Vikings are 3-11-2 ATS in their last 16 games as an underdog of 0.5-3.0.  They are also 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games following a Straight Up win.  Gambling911.com is all over the Philadelphia Eagles to cover here.

Fate seemed to put the Philadelphia Eagles into the playoffs and now that they are there, many people believe they are a very dangerous team.  They open up at Minnesota on Sunday in the Wild Card game and despite being on the road, are favored to take out the Vikings. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Eagles on the Road.

Philadelphia is making their 7th playoff appearance in the last 9 years.  Last week they humiliated the Dallas Cowboys 44-6 and got into the playoffs because Tampa Bay was shocked at home by the Raiders. "A lot of people counted us out and said it was over," quarterback Donovan McNabb said. "We continued to stay focused on what the plan was. Things worked out well and we're playing.."  The Eagles are red-hot of late, having won four of their last five games and outscoring opponents by an average of 23 points per game. McNabb threw nine touchdowns with only one interception in his last five games.

Minnesota is also playing well of late having won five of their last six games. Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has rebounded recently to play well and running back Adrian Peterson led the NFL in rushing yards. "This season has been like a rollercoaster, up and down," Peterson said, "As a team we were able to overcome adverse situations. That's one thing I always pray about before going out there on the field, is to help us to be able to overcome adverse situations as a team and to continue to fight." Last year Peterson was held to 70 yards in a 23-16 home loss to the Eagles.  This season the Eagles are allowing only 92.3 yards per game on the ground.

The Over is 5-1 in the Vikings last 6 games as an underdog. The Under is 4-1-1 in the Vikings last 6 playoff games.

Nearly 87 percent of the betting action was going the Eagles way.
