The Carolina Panthers vs. Minnesota Vikings game was one of the most bet on heading into Week 3 of NFL play.

The Panthers were looking to go 3-0 and move up the rankings. The Vikings were hoping not to go 0-3.

Odds on this game have moved up from Minnesota -3 to -3 ½ across the board including at SBG Global, which was offering 185 percent in total customer bonuses.

Just over 75 percent of the action in this game was going Carolina's way. A lot more bets were going towards the +170 money line where a $100 bet would pay $170 if the Panthers were to win outright.

Gambling911.com has given this one a line of Carolina -1 so there is a strong enough likelihood that the Panthers will win that money line bet.

Carolina has won three of its last four games against Minnesota. The last head-to-head was won by the Vikings in 2006 by three points, and that occurred in overtime.

The Panthers defeated the Bears, 20-17, completing their second come-from-behind victory in as many weeks. ... Up 15-0, the Vikings collapsed and wound up losing to the Colts, 18-15, on Adam Vinatieri's 47-yard field goal as time expired.

Carolina's star receiver, Steve Smith, makes his season debut after serving a two-game suspension for punching teammate Ken Lucas during training camp. The Panthers have won two games without him and QB Jake Delhomme looks forward to having his favorite target to test Minnesota's 24th-ranked pass defense.

Gus Frerotte will be the starting quarterback this week for the Minnesota Vikings. Coach Brad Childress named the 15-year veteran the starter on Wednesday after two lackluster performances by Tarvaris Jackson.

The Carolina Panthers are among the favorites to win the 2009 Super Bowl. They are bigger favorites than the New York Giants in fact. And the value is good, paying $1000 for every $100 bet should they win at SBG Global. Only four teams had better odds of winning the Super Bowl at press time.
