Brooks Koepka Wins 2017 US Opens, Pays Out Over $10K

Brooks Koepka won his first ever major with a US Open victory that might very well have paid out some lucky gamblers more than $10,000 on a $100 bet.  That’s because Koepka’s odds had been listed above 100-1 at most books.

Gamblers were more likely to have gotten down on the 27-year-old Floridian after his strong showing in Day 1 but at much shorter odds.  He would still have paid out $1000 for every $100 bet for those who got down on him Friday morning.

Koepka had three straight birdies on the back nine Sunday at Erin Hills and closed with a 5-under 67 for the victory. A par on the final hole tied Rory McIlroy's record score to par at 16 under for a four-shot victory.
