Reports were surfacing on Monday that poker pro Phil Ivey lost a whopping $2 million betting on Sunday's Super Bowl between the Saints and Colts.  Gambling911.com doesn't expect to see Ivey celebrating Mardi Gras any time soon.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal's Matt Youmans reported over the weekend that Ivey collaborated with legendary Las Vegas sports gambler Billy Walters to place a $2 million money line bet on the Colts.

"Wiseguy" action at Bookmaker.com suggested that professional sports syndicates were overwhelmingly supporting the Saints however.

MGM Mirage sports book director Jay Rood did not get into specifics about the reported Ivey bet but said, "We took a seven-figure bet on the Colts money line."

Sources also report Adam Meyer, a sports gambler from South Florida, has been approved for a $1 million bet at M Resort. Meyer did not confirm the amount.

"I'm going to be making a substantial wager," Meyer said. "I've only done one-third of the amount so far on the Colts on the money line."
