A familiar name has just won the 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event.
Eight-time bracelet winner Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi ascended to legendary status with the victory. He also walked away with a cool $10,000.
It took only 79 hands, 20 of them on the final day, for Mizrachi to emerge as the new world champion, his turned flush besting the two pair of John Wasnock as “The Grinder” secured the title and $10,000,000 top prize.
Mizrachi's success in the main event had some of his peers insisting he should be automatically entered into the Poker Hall of Fame.
And by Wednesday, the PHOF did make a special exemption to do just that.
As Jack Effel announced his induction into the Hall of Fame, Mizrachi was flocked by fellow members Phil Ivey, Brian Rast, Phil Hellmuth, Mori Eskandani, Jen Harman and John Hennigan.
"Grinder, I'm supposed to tell you something," Hellmuth said on stream. "Ready? What you've done is phenomenal ... winning the Main Event, winning the Players Championship."
