Card Player Founder Wins Own Tournament?

Barry Shulman owns Card Player Magazine and the CardPlayer.com website.  Last weekend, he won the CardPlayer Cruise Main Event and nine bounties to boot.

Our intrepid reporter Thomas Somach approached Barry's wife Allyn Jaffrey Shulman suggesting this might be viewed as a conflict of interest.

"Nobody thinks that," Shulman said.  "Cards are dealt by rotating dealers after players are randomly seated."

The CardPlayer Cruise is owned by Mark and Tina Napolitano.

"We sold the cruise part of it 20 years ago," she conveyed.  "But we take the cruises because the Napolitanos do such a great job along with Jan Fisher and Linda Johnson!"

The Shulmans last cruise turned into an absolute nightmare when Barry and Allyn Jaffrey got trapped on a ship that declared bankruptcy while at sea.  Because employees were not being paid, all services stopped, including dinner and booze.  A sister vessel was ordered to be seized.

The gambling mogul couple paid $400,000 to board the luxury cruise liner Crystal Serenity for a 128-day excursion.  The two were ultimately rescued but continue to be traumatized by the experience.

Barry Shulman's win does not register on the Hendon Mob database.

Mouth Last of Four Survivors in NFL Last Man Standing Contest

"I’m a huge @Patriots fan but tonight I’m a huge @ChicagoBears fan! If bears win I’ll be 1 of 4 left in 1 survivor contest for 177 k and have 1 of 100 for 6 m in circa contest! LETS GO BEARS!"

Matusow did win with the Bears and so too did The Mouth.

New England was as much as a -9 point favorite in this game.
