Gambling911.com reported on Tuesday how nine markets will be prevented from watching their Major League Baseball teams play after ending their agreements with The FanDuel Sports Network.
Among them, the Atlanta Braves.
That news is going to prove painful for Braves fans and those who love to bet the Braves alike. They will need to find less traditional ways in which to watch their beloved team play.
And to think, a few decades back the Braves were the most accessible team to watch courtesy of Ted Turner's TBS super station.
Broadcasts via MLB Media are an alternative for any team right now if they don’t find another broadcast partner, but that may have unfortunate revenue implications.
The Braves are working on distribution deals with cable, satellite, and streaming services to provide BravesVision to their customers as BravesVision is your new home for Atlanta Braves baseball for the 2026 season. That won't matter if cable companies don't offer the channel.
BravesVision telecasts will be available on Braves.TV, a new streaming platform from Major League Baseball. With a subscription, all regular season non-national exclusive Braves games will be available to fans everywhere within the Braves television market with NO BLACKOUTS!
The Braves will provide an update on availability and channel locations as distributor deals are finalized.
The Braves regional viewership footprint is estimated to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 to 8 million households total (sometimes estimated even higher depending on carriage). Anywhere from 1.5 million to 5 million households could be impacted by the blackout.
There is some good news as Spectrum will now be carrying BravesVision (see below).
