Andrew Brunette (Nashville) was coming in at 2-1 odds to be the next NHL head coach fired. Only Ryan Huska (Calgary) had shorter odds.
Nashville only has four wins in their last thirteen games.
Two weeks ago, PredLines Chad Minton insisted it was time for the Predators to cut ties with Brunette. The situation has not gotten any better since.
Just for the sake of talking about Brunette's job security, I can't even imagine the most pro-Brunette fan making an argument to keep him any longer. The head coach almost always falls on the sword first when things go drastically wrong, so playing the blame game between Trotz and Brunette is pointless. The head coach goes first almost always.
Prior to the start of the 2025-2026 NHL season, Nashville’s coach was the favorite to be the first coach fired.
This week, BetOnline made Huska the favorite to be fired next.
Nashville beat Calgary Tuesday night.
