Caesars Nevada Sports Betting Apps Went Down....During Most of Super Bowl

It's the worst nightmare for sportsbook operators, players and even folks like us who run media sites tied to the sports betting sector: Crashing during the year's biggest sporting event in the US, the Super Bowl.

And that's exactly what happened this Super Bowl to Nevada's Caesars Sportsbook apps, we are learning.  Not all of us live in Nevada and got to experience this misfortunate.

According to David Payne Purdum of ESPN, the apps went down in the second quarter of the Super Bowl and remained down through Wednesday evening.  Ouch!

"All customers should now have access to their accounts, the sportsbook says," according to the Purdum tweet.

This may not be a Caesars-specific issue, one customer speculated.

"Most Vegas apps are so antiquated," The Degenerate writes.

Joeaveragefan @Joeaveragefan writes:

"With all due respect to the customers affected, what BillyHill put their on site staff thru on Sunday deserves a big time bonus. You can't hang up on someone right in your face looking for answers where there are none. Lost hours and tips on the biggest betting day of the year!"

Quite a few speculated on how much the outage might have cost the company.  William Hill is pretty much the biggest game in town as far as Vegas, and the whole state for that matter, go.

"Insane the amount of action they lost," commented one player.

It's not immediately clear what caused the snafu.
