Jon Rahm Wins US Open: First for Spain

Two weeks after having to exit the Memorial with a demanding lead due to Covid-19 protocol, Spain's Jon Rahm has won the 2021 US Open.  This was the first time a golfer from his country has won this tournament.

Rahm was the 10-1 favorite to win, meaning there was some decent exposure for bookmakers the world over.

The world's number 3 posted a closing four-under-par 67 to finish with a six-under 278 total and consign South African Louis Oosthuizen to his sixth major championship runner-up finish.

Rahm managed successive winding birdie putts on his last two holes to seize the clubhouse lead.

Up until Sunday afternoon a number of long shots sat atop the leaderboard, some promising over $30,000 payouts on a $100 bet.
