Two out and seven more to go as we head into Saturday evening at the WSOP final table.
James Akenhead and Kevin Schaffel were both eliminated and walk away with over a million dollars each. Both mean were out within approximately 30 minutes of one another. Akenhead, a 26-year-old former train conductor from London, became the first player eliminated Saturday. Akenhead reached the end of the line at about 7:40 p.m. ET when he went all in with his last five million chips against Kevin Schaffel, who then got ousted himself. Akenhead gets $1.26 million and Schaffel walks off with $1.30 million. Not too shabby!
Kevin Schaffel moved all in with about $19 million chips with the Aces and Eric Buchman quickly called with the Kings.
Phil Ivey had the lowest number of chips heading into the 7 pm Las Vegas hour while Eric Buchman led the pack with over 62 mil.
