Louisville Cardinals Football Bookie News: No Jaire Alexander

The Louisville Cardinals football team are listed at 40/1 odds of winning the 2018 NCAA College Football Championship.

Bobby Petrino said during his weekly radio show Wednesday night that Jaire Alexander, a preseason All-American cornerback, is making progress after injuring his knee in the 35-28 win over Purdue last weekend but won't play at UNC.

"He won't be able to get ready for this game, but he's getting better every day," Petrino said. "It was very good news, the fact that the ligaments were in good shape, so we're looking forward to him coming back. We don't know exactly the timetable yet; it's still a day-to-day deal. But I think he has a great attitude and he's a tremendous worker, so he'll heal and get back as quick as possible."

Louisville was a -9.5 favorite in Saturday’s Week 2 game.
