Thanksgiving Day Football: Arizona Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Eagles Odds

It's Thanksgiving and that means football.  This holiday we are treated to a trio of NFL games.  Each, ironically, features a turkey.  Tennessee plays winless Detroit.  Dallas goes up against two-win dud Seattle and then there is the Arizona Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Eagles where the later team is a -3 favorite.  These odds haven't moved since opening on that number.

There are two duds in this game.  Despite Arizona's 7-4 record, the Cardinals have a reputation for being unable to play on the East Coast.  They'll be going up against a 5-5 Eagles team whose quarterback, Donovan McNabb, finds himself in a precarious situation.

McNabb was benched for the first time in his career in Week 12, but coach Andy Reid moved quickly on Monday to select him as the starter.

Starter Brian Westbrook and backup Correll Buckhalter missed practice on Monday. Westbrook has struggled in recent weeks, and if he or Buckhalter can't go, Lorenzo Booker would get the start for the Eagles.

While these two teams have pretty much split the series over their last 10, Arizona has still enjoyed a slight edge, winning 6 of those games.  We should point out that Philadelphia's wins have been by large margins while most of Arizona's wins against the Eagles were within a field goal.

The Cardinals only lost to Carolina by 4 points a few weeks back on the road.  They have won their last two games on the road, both against losing teams.  Pundits blame the time change for Arizona's East Coast road woes.

The Cardinals are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games following a Straight Up loss. The Cardinals are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games following a S.U. loss.

The Eagles are 4-0 on Thanksgiving, while the Cardinals are 6-14-2. The Cardinals have lost seven consecutive Thanksgiving games.
