The Chicago Bears were a -3 favorite to beat the Detroit Lions at Bookmaker.com heading into Saturday morning. One of the few online gambling sites offering this line since everyone else seemed to have it at -3 ½.

If Detroit is going to finally win one, it might as well be against Chicago. After all, they beat the Bears the last two times they played them.

The Bears are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall but 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following a bye week. And worst still, they are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games on field turf.

The Lions, meanwhile, are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a SU loss of more than 14 points.

Let's put it this way: We won't be betting the Bears in this one. Detroit has a chance. But does anyone really want to lay money on this horrible Lions team?

We didn't think so.

Next we have the Dallas Cowboys as the biggest point favorites of the season thus far. Planet Hollywood in Vegas actually had Dallas as -25 favorites. Everyone else had them at either -16 or -16 ½.

The Cowboys are 13-4-2 ATS in their last 19 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a S.U. loss.

The Bengals are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games after scoring less than 15 points in their previous game.

We don't want to bet on the Bengals nor lay these huge points on Dallas, especially when there are not enough trends favoring either team.
