The Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia Eagles game is - for us - one of the most highly anticipated of the day Sunday. The odds on this game opened at Philly -6 and have stayed there at nearly 100 percent of the online sports books.

Here is something interesting to point out. The Sagarin Ratings, which are used to determine betting odds on various games, had the Redskins ranked number one this week, probably because they beat Dallas. Gambling911.com has determined that the line here probably should be Washington -3 even. The odds makers apparently believe that Sagarin is way off in his beliefs. We shall see.

About 70 percent of bettors were placing their action on the Washington spread while 81 percent of the money line action was going the Redskins way. Bet $100 and win $220 for Washington to win outright.

Make no mistake about it, these are two solid teams. Both are 3-1 ATS.

The road team has won 4 of the last 5. Philadelphia has won 7 of the last 10. 5 of the last 6 wins were by 7 or more points. Over the last three seasons, this series has mostly been split though.

The Redskins are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win. They are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 vs. NFC. The Eagles are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. loss.

Maybe the only NFC East team not widely expected to be a contender for the division title was the Washington Redskins. A second straight road win over one of the teams picked to finish ahead of them would all but prove that belief to be false, according to Justin Einhorn of Yahoo Stats.

"Everybody has to look at the Redskins in a different light now," running back Ladell Betts said. "This is a great team. We can beat anybody. We can play with anybody."

The Eagles offense could be in for another big day at home against a short-handed Washington defense. Zorn all but ruled out defensive end Jason Taylor, who missed last week's game due to an ankle problem, and cornerback Shawn Springs appears likely to sit out with a calf injury, and this could have been factored into the rather large Philadelphia line overlay.

Bet this one at your own discretion. It's a tough game to form an opinion on especially with Washington such a surprise team.
