Team sacks can often be a great indicator of overall success. The ability to pressure the quarterback rushes throws and can cause turnovers and/or sacks.

Additionally, teams with a lot of sacks are often playing with a lead so the other team is passing on the large majority of downs which opens up more circumstances for sacks.
