Heavily favored Eskendereya will not be running in Saturday's 2010 Kentucky Derby, thus making for a more competitive field.

Trainer Todd Pletcher announced that Eskendereya was ailing in his left front leg and unable to compete.

Eskendereya  appeared as if he would be a dominating force at this year's Derby.

Early bettors who laid money on Eskendereya were out of luck it appeared at most online race books.

SBG Global, which was offering 2010 Kentucky Derby odds overnight Saturday, had removed the odds based on this latest news.

Lookin At Lucky had been the next biggest favorite at +500 odds or 5/1 previous to this announcement.
