Scottie Scheffler has won the 2025 Open Championship and the bookies can't be happy. How big was this weekend's betting action with the combined UFC 318 and Open Championship? Scheffler never gave anyone a chance from the time his 9-iron settled a foot away for birdie on the first hole until he tapped in for a 3-under 68 and a four-shot victory over Harris English.

“He is the bar that we’re all trying to get to,” Masters champion Rory McIlroy said. “In a historical context, you could argue that there’s only maybe two or three players in the history of the game that have been on a run the one that Scottie’s been on here for the last 24 to 36 months. Scheffler was the favorite but enough action was coming in on other contenders to offset his big win. While a number of bets were placed on Scheffler, he did not list among the top five liabilities at most sportsbooks. This was his first Open Championship victory.
