DraftKings Wants to be an Online Sportsbook in the USA

Daily Fantasy Sports behemoth DraftKings has hinted at becoming an online sportsbook serving the US gambler should the Supreme Court rule in favor of federal legalization.

DraftKings CEO Jason Robins was attending the Web Summit in Portugal

Eben Novy-William of Bloomberg News tweeted following Robins presentation:

FWIW, @DraftKings CEO Jason Robins also said company will weigh options if sports gambling is legalized nationwide. Could become sports book

DraftKings signed a deal with the National Basketball Association (NBA) over the summer.

The US Supreme Court is expected to hear the state of New Jersey’s case whereby it wants to offer legalized sports betting.

The high court will hear New Jersey’s argument beginning December 3 that the ban on sports betting is not legal because it exceeds the authority of Congress.

Should the Supreme Court find in New Jersey’s favor, other states would be legally permitted to allow sports betting as well.
