The map below, courtesy of BetOnline, is based on geotagged X since the start of MLB Spring Training tracking tweets, hashtags, and direct keyword phrases about who people were picking to win the World Series.
For example, "The Dodgers will threepeat” or "Dodgers are winning the World Series". Over 7.5 million tweets were tracked.
As you can see from the map, the oddsmakers aren’t the only ones thinking the Dodgers will win their third straight World Series.
49 of 50 states picked the Dodgers to win the World Series. The only outlier was New York, where they picked the New York Yankees to win their first World Series since 2009.
It’s understandable. They won back-to-back World Series and still added the best free agent everyday player in Kyle Tucker and the best free agent reliever in Edwin Diaz.
Oh, and their farm system is also ridiculous as it’s ranked 2nd by MLB.com, 4th by ESPN.com and 2nd by The Athletic.
Here's the state-by-state breakdown:
Los Angeles Dodgers: All other states
New York Yankees: New York
