If you are residing in Columbus, Ohio either as a resident or while attending college at the University of Ohio, you are bound to run into the local bookie.  This is Ohio State Buckeyes territory and each week sports bettors will be looking to lay some action on their home town or college team.  Bookies, meanwhile, will be in desperate need for a Pay Per Head that features LIVE IN-PLAY WAGERING on ALL Ohio State games.

Bookmaking itself is considered a felony in the state but there have been few active prosecutions in past years.  Betting on games is considered a misdemeanor and there have been no prosecutions in recent years on this front.

Ohio is a huge sports state with a number of professional teams scattered across Cincinnati and Cleveland.  Columbus, however, is home to one of the most popular college teams in which to wager on.

Buckeyes football coach Urban Meyer recently took a little flack a few years back for suggesting that Columbus doesn’t have any professional sports teams when they are actually home to the National Hockey League’s Blue Jackets and Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew.  The savvy bookie will get his or her players betting on these leagues even if he or she doesn’t know a lick about NHL or Soccer.  That’s because a whole host of Pay Per Head shops operating offshore can manage said bookmaker’s customers and offer betting on these sports over the Web or via the phone with mobile options readily available.

Bookies can be found in most of the city’s popular sports bars at any given time but more likely during game times on Saturday.   These include the likes of Frontrow Sports Bar, R Bar Arena, Ringside Café, Olivers, BBR, Harrison’s On Third, Victory’s Pizz and Grub (with pool tables), Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar, the Endzone Entertainment Complex, Bar Louis and the College student hangout of Classics Sports Bar.
