Let’s face it, Atlanta and Fulton County typically ranks among the worst fan bases in the United States despite having some decent professional sports teams.

Though Atlanta is among the worst fan cities, Atlanta still has plenty of bookies to go around.

Georgia though is strict with bookmakers, making aggravated gambling a felony whereas nearly half the US states make bookmaking a misdemeanor.  Georgia-based bookies, including those in the Atlanta area, are more likely to utilize offshore Pay Per Heads in order to avoid the usual paper trails that get them into hot water.

"Without question, Atlanta is the worst sports town in America," claims Rob Parker of ESPN.com.  “If the New York Yankees are the standard for excellence in baseball, Atlanta is the epitome of the bottom of the barrel when it comes to fan support.”

“Of course, there are some true-blue Atlanta sports fans. But in the 25 years I have covered sports in that town, attendance has always been an issue.”

In 2016, the bookies were having to worry about the Atlanta Falcons once again, who were starting the season strong 3-1 both Straight Up and Against The Spread.  They were -140 favorites to win the NFC South after Week 4.
