Super Bowl Line More Stable Friday

After some very erratic movement over the past 24 hours which witnessed four different numbers, the 2010 Super Bowl line began to settle in around Colts -4 ½ and -5.

The line had been at -6 at some of the more recreational shops heading into Thursday morning before most books brought it down to -4 ½, the lowest it's been since opening.  A few gambling sites offered the line at -5 and -5 ½ during the transition period.

While the line moved dramatically, action on the Colts stayed relatively high.

"After peaking at 73 percent betting action on the Colts spread, there was still around 67 percent betting on Indianapolis throughout the past 24 hours during which this line was moving," says Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

Sportsbook.com, which offered the Colts at -4 ½ heading into Friday afternoon, reported 68 percent action on Indianapolis shortly before noon.

"With a Super Bowl, a 55/45 ratio is lopsided action," Shapiro points out.  "67/33 is significant lopsided action and the books will surely take a hit if Indianapolis loses."
