Minnesota Vikings Odds of Winning 2010 Super Bowl Stay Firm

Despite what appears to be a season ending collapse, the Minnesota Vikings odds of winning the 2010 Super Bowl remained pretty good at +400 for a payout potential of $400 on every $100 bet at SBG Global.  The question is whether there might be any value in that number for sports bettors.

"I would be more inclined to take the Vikings at +800 to win the 2010 Super Bowl," says Don Shapiro, Head of Sports Betting News at Gambling911.com.  "Then again we have to analyze whether this team could get its act together in the post season.  During the regular season, the Vikings looked like the team to beat in the NFC after New Orleans."

And New Orleans has lost its last two games after going 13-0 to start the season.

"It's anybody's Super Bowl to win at this point," argues Shapiro.  "4/1 odds to win the 2010 Super Bowl might not be bad value in the whole scheme of things."

The Vikings lost against the lowly Chicago Bears Monday night, which perhaps served to erase memories of New Orleans losing to the even more lowly Tampa Bay Bucs the day prior.

Minnesota fell for the third time in four games, and the defeat gave the New Orleans Saints home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.

"I know we're fortunate to be in the playoffs but we have to play better than we did the last few weeks or we'll be home fairly quickly," Vikings Quarterback Brett Favre said. "I'm just being honest as I can be."

Minnesota was shut out in the first half for the first time since Week 16 of the 2007 season. But it rebounded to score 30 points in the second half, its most since Week 16 of 1998 vs. the Jaguars (38).
