Gambling911.com offers this Jets-Colts prediction for the 2011 NFL Wildcard Playoffs with the game kicking off at 8 pm EST Saturday.

While the Jets have had plenty controversies swirling around them during the regular season, they have managed to keep their heads held high.  A loss to the Chicago Bears during Week 16 didn’t stop the Jets from making it into the Playoffs as a Jacksonville loss helped New York to clinch.

The Colts, who have had one of their worst seasons in years, learned they were in the Playoffs after a Week 17 3-point win against Tennessee.

In the last two seasons, these teams have alternated wins.

Colts Quietly Looking Impressive In Final Four Weeks: The Indianapolis Colts were winners of four straight coming into the 2011 NFL Wildcard Playoffs.  That said, they had lost three consecutive games prior to this time.  Two of those losses, however, were by three points.  Favorites to win the Super Bowl, New England, was one of the teams that beat Indianapolis at home by a field goal, the other was Dallas.  Another loss was by just two points to a very good Philadelphia team.  The Colts only big loss came at the hands of San Diego in Week 12 during that three game slide.

A Few Strong Trends for the Jets:  While there really aren’t a whole lot of standout trends for either team in this game, New York did display a few noticeably important numbers.  They are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games as an underdog, 10-4 ATS in their last 14 road games, 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a road underdog of 0.5-3.0.

Jets-Colts Prediction Focuses On The Total: The total in this game was listed at 44.5 with more than 80 percent of those wagering on the total on the OVER.  Smart play we believe.

For the Jets, the OVER went 12-4 during the regular season.  Over the last three seasons, against AFC South division opponents, the Jets have gone OVER 6 out of 7 times.  When playing against a team with a winning record in the second half of the season, the OVER is 10-2 in the last three seasons.  When the Jets were an underdog, the OVER went 6-0 this season.  And in road games, the OVER for the Jets went 8-0 this season.

For the Colts, against AFC East division opponents, the OVER has gone 6-1.  Oddly enough, the OVER for Indianapolis is 0-9 when playing on Saturdays since 1992.

Nevertheless, Gambling911.com’s prediction for the Jets-Colts game is OVER 44.5.
