The 2011 Super Bowl odds were down to just four teams, three of which were pretty big long shots heading into the Playoffs.

The Green Bay Packers were suddenly the favorites to win the 2011 Super Bowl, remarkably.

The payout for a Packers win would be $140 for every $100 bet.  They had shorter odds than the Pittsburgh Steelers, which would pay out $200 for every $100 bet with a Super Bowl win.

“The true value is on the Jets and Bears,” suggests Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

The Jets would pay out $300 on a $100 bet.  The Bears would pay out $500.

“I’m not entirely convinced Green Bay can beat Chicago,” says Shapiro.  “This is a hot rivalry that will be played in Chicago.”

Sports bettors were all over the road favorite Packers with 80 percent of the spread backing in a divisional playoffs rivalry we have not seen since 1941.

The Steelers were getting around 65 percent of the spread action against the Jets.

Green Bay comes into Sunday’s game a -3.5 road favorite against Chicago while Pittsburgh is the -3.5 home favorite vs. New York.
