THE BETPHOENIX WORLD CUP PREDICTION FOR EGYPT

Egypt got to Russia behind a stifling defensive 4-2-3-1 game.

Despite their many years' absence from the Cup, Egypt is still regarded as the most successful African Nation in soccer, having won the African Cup of Nations tournament a record seven times.

This will be the first time that the Pharaohs have made it to the World Cup since 1990 however and only the third time since 1934.

Team manager Hector Cuper has held the reins of the Egyptian squad since 2015 and has coached his team to a 65% win rate in that time.

Players for Egypt's run at the World Cup in 2018 will include El-Hadary and Salah along with defensive stalwarts Rami Rabia and Ahmed Hegazi.

Salah is the indisputable star of the club, having gained a very high profile from his time playing in Europe. He is currently the top scorer in the Premier League at the time of this writing with 29 goals for Liverpool.

Egypt is the second-highest ranked nation in their group behind Uruguay, but the odds of them making it into the knockout round are 5/4.  Scoring goals will not be easy assuming they reach the knockout round against the anticipated opponents.
