Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) is the new favorite in recent days to win the 2026 Oscar for Best Actor. Jordan requires an $18 bet to win $10 or $180 to win $100. That $10 or $100 bet is refunded provided he wins.
Timothee Chalamet (Marty Supreme) had initially been the favorite but now pays out $180 for every $100 bet.
Jordan is an American actor, producer, and director. His accolades include three Actor Awards and a Producers Guild Award, in addition to nominations for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Emmy Awards. Jordan was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time in 2020 and 2023. People's Sexiest Man Alive in 2020, and The New York Times ranked him 15th on its list of the 25 greatest actors of the 21st century.
Sinners is set in 1932 in the Mississippi Delta, with Jordan in dual roles as criminal identical twin brothers who return to their hometown in the Jim Crow South, where they are confronted by a supernatural evil.
Chalamet is a French and American actor known for his diverse filmography and stage work. He left Columbia University after one year to pursue acting full-time. Chalamet's breakout role came in the 1980s-set Call Me By Your Name, where he played Elio Perlman, a young man who falls in love with an older college student. The role earned him nominations for a Golden Globe, Oscar, BAFTA, SAG, and Critics' Choice Award.
Marty Supreme is an American sports comedy-drama film directed by Josh Safdie, who co-wrote it with Ronald Bronstein. Set in the 1950s, it stars Timothée Chalamet as table tennis player Marty Mauser (loosely based on Marty Reisman) and follows his quest to become world champion. Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A'zion, Kevin O'Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher appear in supporting roles.
