Kentucky is Basketball Country.  There are dozens of sports betting websites located outside the United States that take bets from Kentucky residents online for March Madness.  There are no explicit laws that make placing a bet over the Web a crime from this state.  Years ago the Governor here attempted to seize over 100 gambling related domains.  As a result there are some books that do not permit Kentucky residents from betting.

Aggravated gambling is considered a felony in the commonwealth of Kentucky though there will be no shortage of bookmakers taking bets from those living here.

Kentucky is home to two of the best known College Basketball teams in the nation: the Kentucky Wildcats and the Louisville Cardinals, neither of which were dominating during the 2018 regular season though the Wildcats were still considered a top 25 team in some polls and on the College Basketball Betting Power Ratings.
