With the Sweet 16 and the Elite 8 now in the history books, there are now only 4 teams remaining which will square off in the Final Four this upcoming†Saturday†on March 31st†in San Antonio, Texas.††The first game will start at precisely 6:09p with Loyola Chicago facing Michigan, and the second game will tip off at 8:49p with Kansas taking on Villanova.
Oddly enough each of these four teams have won the National Championship before, with the Cinderella Loyola Chicago team winning their one and only National Championship in 1963.††Villanova won their first and only National Championship just two years ago in 2016, Michiganís first and only National Championship was in 1989, and Kansas leads the way with 3 National Championships on their resume, with the last one being in 2008.
The various PPH programs out there,†like AcePerHead.com,†have Villanova as the odds on favorite at even money to win it all, which is a long way from where they were at the beginning of the season at +3000. The next favorite to win it all is Michigan at +220, followed by Kansas at +320 and lastly Loyola Chicago at +850. Loyola Chicago actually began the season at +20,000 to win it all, so it would be a historic story if they ended up winning the whole thing.
In terms of the actual Semi-Final games, Michigan is a -5 point favorite over the Cinderella Loyola Chicago Ramblers with the action coming in pretty split so far. The other game has Villanova as a -5 point favorite, however, there is already more than double the action on the underdog Kansas Jayhawks.††So far there has been quite a few upsets already and lots of underdogs covering spreads, however, these two Final Four games have the look and feel of the favorites winning and covering.††But obviously this tournament is still up for grabs and anything can still happen.
