They Love Their Lightning

With back-to-back championships, the Lighting have one of the hottest fan bases in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Up until the start of th Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020 the Lightning sold-out Amalie Arena for 234 consecutive games and that trend appears to be starting up again.

Tom Brady Retiring

Tampa has been one of the most successful sports cities in the US during the pandemic period between the Lightning, the Rays in Major League Baseball and the 2020 Super Bowl champion Buccaneers.

But the Bucs fan base is seen as "temporary" with Tom Brady expected to play no more than three seasons, if that.  Rumors surfaced the end of January that Brady had intended to retire ahead of the 2022 regular NFL season.

The Bucs were eliminated by the LA Rams in the Division Playoffs.

College Football

The South Florida Bulls do have a solid fan base here but Gators fans are all around.   UCF is also gaining ground just to the East and will have some fans in the region.
