Norway's Emil "Nyhrox" Bergquist Pedersen, 16, and Austria's David "aqua" Wang, 17, became the first Fortnite World Cup Finals duo champions.  Each takes home an incredible $1.5 million.  The duo sat around the 15 mark in terms of shortest odds to win or, in other words, there were 14 other duos widely expected to taste victory before Nyhrox and Aqua.

"We knew all it took was one good game to get back into it," Nyhrox said. "After our first win, we said let's get back-to-back victories."

For Aqua, who only turned 17 last week, it was the best birthday present he could ask for.

"It's all right," Aqua said with a laugh, both teenagers still coming to terms with their newfound stardom.

ESPN.com wrote of the event:

"Epic Games has taken the parameters of a classic tennis venue and flipped it on its head, creating a feeling of worlds colliding, as the Fortnite World Cup is a mixture of musical festival, sporting event and Chuck E. Cheese."
